Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 July 2026 · Effective: 8 July 2026
1. About us
ManeZero is a personal life-management platform. We are based in Australia and are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information openly and transparently.
2. What personal information we collect
We collect the following kinds of personal information:
- Account information — your name, email address and authentication details, managed by our identity provider (Clerk).
- Content you create — tasks, notes, calendar events, bills, budgets, habits, goals, household member details and similar information you choose to enter.
- Household information — where you add members to a shared workspace, information about those members that you provide.
- Usage information — technical data such as device and browser type, IP address, and how you interact with the Service.
- Payment information — if and when paid plans are offered, payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we do not store your full card details.
We do not require you to provide sensitive information (such as health information). If you choose to record such information in your private workspace, you consent to us handling it for the purpose of providing the Service.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, enter content, or contact us, and automatically through your use of the Service. Where you provide information about other people (such as household members), you must ensure you are entitled to do so and, where appropriate, that they are aware of this Policy.
4. Why we collect, hold, use and disclose it
We handle your personal information to:
- provide, maintain and improve the Service;
- authenticate you and secure your account;
- provide AI-assisted features you request (see section 6);
- respond to your enquiries and provide support;
- process payments (for paid plans);
- comply with our legal obligations.
5. Disclosure to third parties
We disclose personal information to trusted service providers who help us operate the Service, under obligations of confidentiality and data protection:
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Clerk | Authentication & account management | United States |
| Supabase | Database & storage | [REGION — e.g. Australia/Singapore/US] |
| Vercel | Application hosting | United States |
| Google (Gemini) / Anthropic | AI assistant features (only when you use them) | United States |
| Stripe | Payment processing (paid plans) | United States / Australia |
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
6. AI-assisted features
When you use AI features (such as the assistant or daily briefing), relevant information from your workspace is sent to our AI provider to generate a response. This data is used only to answer your request and is not used by us to train AI models. AI responses are generated automatically and may contain errors; they are provided for general information only and are not professional financial, legal, medical or other advice.
7. Overseas disclosure (APP 8)
Some of our service providers are located outside Australia (including in the United States), as noted above. Before disclosing personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the APPs. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information may be stored and processed overseas.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and tenant isolation so that your data is not accessible to other users. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Notifiable data breaches
If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm to individuals whose personal information is involved, we will comply with our obligations under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme in Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required.
10. Accessing and correcting your information (APP 12 & 13)
You can access and update most of your information directly within the Service. You may also request access to, or correction of, your personal information by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period. You can export your data and delete your account at any time from your account settings; deleting your account permanently removes your personal data from active systems, subject to any retention required by law.
11. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent the Service from working.
12. Direct marketing (APP 7)
We will only send you marketing communications with your consent or where otherwise permitted by law, and every such message will include an easy way to opt out. Transactional messages (such as security and account notices) are not marketing.
13. Retention
We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Service and to meet our legal obligations. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
14. Children
The Service is not intended for children under 16 to create their own accounts. Household features that reference children are intended to be managed by a responsible adult account holder.
15. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
16. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the “Last updated” date shown above. Material changes will be notified through the Service.
